ハウスメーカーによる既存戸建住宅の２階を改装した、夫婦２人の住居。建物は、北側の比較的交通量の多い道路に接していたが、南東には近隣の山の豊かな緑が望める場所に位置していた。そこで、南東に開いた既存部分を家の重心となるように計画している。プランとしては、夫婦が生活の多くを過ごすリビング・ダイニング・キッチンを、既存階段のコアを囲み、Ｕ字型とした。そこでは、個人で過ごす趣味や読書の時間を完全に分断するのではなく、離れていてもなんとなくお互いの気配を感じられるように、ひとつながりの空間で過ごすことができる。また、既存躯体は軽量鉄骨造で、小屋組のトラス架構により無柱空間となっていた為、寄棟中心部の大きな小屋裏空間を生かしたロフトを設けることにより、リビングとは別の性質を持った居場所をつくることを試みた。家の中央にあるロフト下の壁は、南東からの光を仄かに拡散し、室内に新たな表情をつくり出す。
It's the housing of a house manufacturer renovated on the 2nd floor for a couple. The house along with the road in the North relatively heavy traffic but in the Southeast, it was located in an abundant green in the mountain. The plan opens for the Southeast side like becoming the center of gravity of the house, having the living, dining, and kitchen formed U surrounding the existing stairs core. They can stay in the connected space by feeling the atmosphere with each other somehow even if we are far apart having not divided each independent time completely such as reading and hobbies. I tried to design the space having another characteristic of living by creating a loft in a big behind space of the roof because the existing structure was a lightweight steel construction and a columnless space by a truss structure of roofs. The wall under the loft of the center of this house creates a new surface for the inside spreading the light from the Southeast slightly.
